The Kathmandu District Court has granted police permission to keep journalist Kishor Shrestha in custody for another four days for investigation.
According to the Supreme Court’s order, Shrestha was supposed to be brought to the Supreme Court at 10 am along with the seized materials. However, police first took him to the Kathmandu District Court to obtain an extension of his detention.
After securing the extension from the district court, police took Shrestha to the Supreme Court in connection with the habeas corpus petition filed over his detention.
The Supreme Court will hear the case and issue an order on whether Shrestha’s detention is justified.
