Kathmandu, August 18
Heavy rainfall has been predicted in a few places of hilly region in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has informed that moderate rainfall coupled with thunder and lightning would occur in most of the places of the hilly region and some places in the Tarai region across the country today.
Even a storm is likely in the Tarai belt of Koshi Province and some places of Madhes Province. Currently, the monsoon wind is active across the country. The low-pressure belt of the monsoon is situated in its average range in the east and to the north of its average range in the west, or near Nepal. It is causing rainfall at present in the western belt of Nepal.
It will be generally cloudy across the country today. Some of the mountainous places are forecasted to have light to moderate rainfall/snowfall along with thunder and lightning. Similarly, the weather service added that moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is predicted in a few places of Madhes Province tonight. Similar weather features in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
