Kathmandu, October 30

The government has extended the grace period for inactive companies wishing to resume operations or cancel their registration.

According to the Ministry of Finance, companies registered under the Companies Act, 2006, that have failed to submit details, renew their registration or pay applicable taxes, fees, charges, interest or fines within the deadlines prescribed by law can benefit from the provision if they wish to resume operations or cancel their registration.

The ministry said that if such companies submit the details and pay the taxes, fees and charges applicable for the fiscal year 2026/27 by mid-January 2027, all outstanding or applicable taxes, fees, charges, interest and fines from previous periods will be waived.

A decision made on October 26 extended the deadline from mid-October 2026 to mid-January 2027.
