Kathmandu, October 30

The Nepali Congress is preparing to approach the Election Commission to update the details of its central working committee elected through the party’s 15th General Convention.

Following the swearing-in of the newly elected central committee after the convention concluded in the last week of Mangsir, the party has begun preparations to submit the details to the Election Commission for updating its records.

Acting Chief Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Krishna Prasad Dulal, confirmed that preparations were underway to approach the commission for the update.

“We are currently in the preparation stage. Work is underway to complete all the documents and necessary procedures,” he told Onlinekhabar. “We will approach the commission once the preparations are complete.”

However, he did not specify when the party would visit the commission to update the details of the newly elected central committee.

“We will go to the commission once the preparations are complete,” Dulal said in response to Onlinekhabar’s query. “I will inform you when the time comes.”

He described the process of updating the committee’s details at the commission as a routine administrative procedure.

“There is no need to make a big issue out of approaching the commission. It is a normal procedure,” Dulal said. “Since this is something we are required to do in accordance with the party statute and the law, we will proceed accordingly.”

However, Acting Chief Secretary Dulal indicated that the party could approach the commission by Monday.

“We are preparing to visit the commission today or tomorrow. We will approach it by Monday,” he said.

A central committee meeting held on Thursday after the swearing-in ceremony had assigned Acting Chief Secretary Dulal the responsibility of updating the details of the central committee elected through the general convention.
