The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will cut the power supply in various parts of Kathmandu for eight days as it expands its underground power lines.
The work will be carried out on several feeders under the NEA’s Kuleshwar and Baneshwar distribution centres. For this, power supply will be shut off in the areas concerned from 10:30 am to 4 pm every day from today until November 6, the NEA said.
According to the notice issued by the NEA, the schedule is as follows:
- October 30 – Hyvision Colony area under the Balambu, Thankot and Matatirtha feeder
- October 31 – Kalanki Ring Road to Syuchatar substation under the Sitapaila feeder
- November 1 – Kalanki Chowk to Dhungeadda under the Kalanki, Thankot and Ropeway feeder
- November 2 – Kalanki Ring Road to Syuchatar substation under the Bafal feeder
- November 3 – UN Park to Bijulibazar under the Sankhamul feeder
- November 4 and 6 – Dhaulagiri Awas and Matatirtha PSS area under the Satungal feeder

The NEA has said the schedule may be cancelled if the weather is unfavourable. It has also asked consumers to make the necessary arrangements, as power supply has to be shut down for the underground line expansion work.
