Former secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire has been appointed executive director of the Nepal Administrative Staff College.
Ghimire, who received mandatory retirement from the civil service only a few months ago, has now been given the executive leadership of the Staff College.
He has already received his appointment letter from Madan Bhujel, secretary at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration.
Previously, the Cabinet appointed the Staff College’s executive director directly. This time, selection through open competition was adopted.
Dr Ghimire, Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Dilli Ram Sharma, Babu Ram Adhikari and Anju Mishra were on the shortlist of applicants for the post. Ghimire was appointed on the basis of interviews, presentations and a qualification test.
