Kathmandu, October 25

Nepali and overseas batters have set several individual records in the first two editions of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), held in 2024 and 2025.

Across the two tournaments, James Neesham leads the six-hitting charts, while Nepal captain Rohit Paudel has struck the most fours. Three batters have scored centuries in the league’s first two editions.

Neesham, who represented Janakpur Bolts in the inaugural edition in 2024, hit 23 sixes that season. In the second edition, Mark Watt of Karnali Yaks struck 21 sixes. Combining the statistics from both seasons, Neesham has hit 31 sixes to top the overall list.

Rohit leads the fours chart with 44 boundaries across the two editions. He struck 26 fours in 2024 and another 18 in 2025.

Sudurpaschim Royals’ Binod Bhandari is second with 42 fours, followed by Janakpur Bolts’ Lahiru Milantha with 38 and Chitwan Rhinos’ Ravi Bopara with 36.

Pokhara Avengers’ Adam Rossington led the fours chart in the 2025 edition, hitting 31 boundaries. He scored 323 runs in seven matches to finish as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. Including his sixes, Rossington struck 50 boundaries during the season.

Three batters score centuries

Three batters have scored centuries across the NPL’s first two editions.

In the inaugural season, Pokhara Avengers’ Andries Gous scored an unbeaten 104 against Lumbini Lions, reaching his century off 55 balls.

The 2025 edition produced two more centuries. Mark Watt scored 114 for Karnali Yaks, while Pokhara Avengers’ Adam Rossington made an unbeaten 108.

Watt’s 114 is the highest individual score among the centuries recorded in the first two editions, while Gous and Rossington also produced standout innings for their respective teams.

Bopara leads half-century count

Ravi Bopara of Chitwan Rhinos led the half-century charts in the inaugural edition, scoring three fifties.

He also registered a half-century in the second season. Other batters who scored two half-centuries in 2025 included Adam Rossington of Pokhara Avengers, Priyank Panchal of Karnali Yaks, Binod Bhandari of Sudurpaschim Royals and Kushal Bhurtel of Pokhara Avengers.

The first two editions have highlighted the contributions of both domestic and overseas batters. Neesham has set the benchmark for sixes, Rohit leads the fours tally, and Gous, Watt and Rossington have each scored centuries.

Among Nepali players, Rohit and Bhandari have been particularly consistent in finding the boundary, placing them among the league’s leading performers across its first two seasons.
