Army rescues 36 people stranded by Budhi Gandaki flood in Gorkha

Kathmandu, October 11

The Nepali Army has rescued 36 people who were at risk following the flooding of the Budhi Gandaki River in Gorkha.

According to the Army, six people were rescued from Jagat, nine from Nyakphedi, nine from Yaru, including an infant and a foreign national, and 12 from Payu.

The Army said four helicopters, along with ground teams, had been deployed for search and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas.

Further search and rescue efforts are underway in coordination with other security agencies and relevant authorities, it added.
