Kathmandu, October 9
Armed Police Force (APF) Additional Inspector General Banshi Raj Dahal has been dismissed from service over alleged misconduct involving the leakage of sensitive security information.
Home Ministry spokesperson Anand Kafle confirmed that Dahal had been dismissed through departmental action.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the dismissal takes effect from Friday.
The government had suspended Dahal from his post on October 5 over allegations of leaking sensitive information.
The APF had recommended departmental action against Dahal, accusing him of leaking sensitive security information and violating the code of conduct expected of security personnel.
The ministry also appointed an inquiry officer to investigate the allegations and submit a report.
The Home Ministry said it was closely monitoring and analysing violations of official conduct by employees under its jurisdiction, particularly the leakage of confidential information and activities that could adversely affect peace and security.
