Kathmandu, October 5
The Department of Transport Management will hold discussions with transport operators on Tuesday regarding advance ticket booking for Dashain.
The department has scheduled a meeting for Tuesday morning to discuss the issue. Passengers planning to leave Kathmandu during the festival season remain uncertain as advance ticket booking has not yet officially opened.
However, some companies have already started online ticket bookings, adding to confusion among the general public.
Passengers continue to face difficulties securing tickets during the festival season and are often forced to wait in long queues at bus parks. The department has called a meeting of stakeholders for Tuesday to discuss the matter.
Representatives from the Highway and Security Division of Nepal Police Headquarters, Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, Nepal Transport Independent Workers’ Organisation, All Nepal Transport Independent Workers’ Organisation, Nepal Transport Workers’ Association, Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs’ Association and Lhotse Multipurpose Cooperative Association have been invited to the meeting.
More than one million passengers are estimated to leave the Kathmandu Valley during this year’s Dashain festival.
