Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi will not travel to Japan to watch the cricket final of the 2026 Asian Games.
India and Pakistan will face each other for the men’s cricket gold medal on Saturday. Before that, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will compete for the bronze medal.
The ACC said in a statement on Friday that Naqvi would not travel to Japan for the final. The statement said Naqvi extended his best wishes to all four teams competing for the gold and bronze medals.
Naqvi said he would be unable to travel to Nagoya due to his busy schedule. He wished all the participating teams the best for the gold- and bronze-medal matches and said he was looking forward to watching an exciting contest.
Naqvi is also the chairperson of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
