The film “Baa: Ek Yoddha,” which has been running since last Friday, has gradually been gaining momentum. After earning Rs 600,000 on its opening day, the film has now grossed Rs 1.11 crore by Thursday.
It has been watched by 40,823 viewers over seven days. With audience flow in theatres steadily increasing, the film enters its second week today.
With audience affection growing and shows filling up, the production team believes the box office will climb steadily as well.
“The business is growing every single day. Viewers who’ve watched the film say they’re sending every member of their family to see it,” said director Hari Lamsal. “We’re confident the number of viewers will keep rising every day from here.”
He says strong word of mouth has been driving growing audience turnout for the film each day.
According to distributors, the film has secured more than 100 shows nationwide. As demand grows, various theatres are adding more shows.
The film’s story centres on the sacrifices, struggles and lifelong challenges a father endures for his children’s future in Nepali society. It focuses on the lengths parents go to fulfil their children’s wishes, as well as the neglect and hardship they often face in old age.
The cast includes Divya Dev, Jharana Thapa, Suhana Thapa, Maotse Gurung, Anil Budhathoki, Sagar Khanal, Shishir Sivakoti, Suprajna Sharma and Shobi Thapa.
Written and directed by Hari Lamsal, “Baa: Ek Yoddha” is produced under the Artistic Entertainment banner. The story and screenplay are also by Lamsal.
The film is produced by Basanta Lamsal, with Anil Budhathoki as executive producer. Arjun Paudel is line producer and Krishna Kafle is co-producer.
