Kathmandu, September 28
Two men from Sankhuwasabha district have died after being caught in an avalanche on Himlung Himal in Manang district.
The deceased have been identified as Chhebi Bhote of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-3 and Pasang Bhote of Bhotkhola-2, according to Wangchhedar Bhote, chairperson of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality.
They died after an avalanche struck the Himlung Himal area on Sunday, September 27.
The two were in the area for mountaineering and other activities around Himlung Himal when they were caught in the avalanche.
The avalanche occurred in Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality-5 of Manang.
According to the rural municipality chairperson, the bodies of both men were brought to Kathmandu by Kailash Helicopter for postmortem at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
Both Chhebi and Pasang were working as tourist guides.
Chairperson Bhote said the bodies will be cremated in Kathmandu after the postmortem.
