Kathmandu, September 28
Phnom Penh Crown Women FC, featuring Nepal women’s national team forward Rekha Paudel, have won the Cambodian Women’s League title.
Phnom Penh Crown defeated Visakha FC 3-0 in the final at the Olympic Stadium on September 27 to clinch the championship.
Paudel played an important role in Phnom Penh Crown’s title-winning campaign. Following the victory, she said she was proud to represent the club’s women’s team and described the hard work, improvement and experience gained throughout the season as an important achievement.
Eight teams competed in the league, with Phnom Penh Crown finishing at the top of the league standings to reach the semifinals.
In the semifinal, Phnom Penh Crown defeated Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC, featuring fellow Nepali player Preeti Rai, 3-2 in a penalty shootout.
Paudel also scored on her debut for Phnom Penh Crown.
The title is Phnom Penh Crown’s fourth consecutive Cambodian Women’s League championship.
Paudel had previously won the UAE Women’s League First Division title with Abu Dhabi Country Club while playing in the UAE.
