Siraha, September 27
A 47-year-old man went missing while bathing in the Kamala River at Bhokraha in Kalyanpur Municipality-6, Siraha.
The missing man has been identified as Gobindaraj Dulal, 47, the son of Dinnanath Dulal of Makwanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-5, Makwanpur.
According to police, Dulal was working as a Bolero driver for Elite Construction, which is constructing a concrete bridge over the Kamala River in Bhokraha.
Ramesh Bahadur Pal, spokesperson and DSP at the District Police Office, Siraha, said Dulal was swept away by the river’s strong current at around 9:55 am on Saturday while he was bathing in the river.
Immediately after the incident, five police personnel led by Police Inspector Bikash Paswan from the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, along with a team from a temporary police post, were deployed to search for him.
Additional teams from nearby police units were also mobilised, police said.
On Saturday, 24 personnel from the Disaster Management Team of the Armed Police Force Nepal Security Base in Kalyanpur, under the command of Armed Police Inspector Raju Singh Bhandari, were also deployed for the search and rescue operation.
The search resumed on Sunday morning, with Dulal’s family members also joining the search effort.
