As many as 550 people in Gorkha district have received their passports at home through the district postal office.
Assistant Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma said 550 people across the district have received their passports at home since April 28. Of the 600 people who applied for home delivery of their passports, 550 have received the service so far, he said, adding that the remaining passports are on their way.
A Cabinet meeting held on March 27, 2026, had decided to deliver passports to citizens’ homes through the postal service.
As part of the government’s administrative reform programme to deliver passports to citizens’ homes through postal services, the District Administration Office and the District Postal Office signed an agreement on April 28, said District Postal Officer Binod Gaire.
Under the agreement, passports are to be delivered to citizens’ homes within their respective districts.
