Skies will generally be cloudy nationwide today. According to the Weather Forecasting Division, isolated spots in the mountain and hill regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces could see heavy rain in the afternoon.
A few locations in the mountain areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, along with scattered spots in the mountains of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim, may get moderate rain or snow with thunder and lightning. Some hill areas across the country could see similar conditions. Meanwhile, a few places in the Tarai belts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, and scattered Tarai spots in Madhesh, Koshi, and Sudurpashchim, may see moderate rainfall.
At night, cloudy conditions will persist nationwide, with the division forecasting possible heavy rain in one or two spots in Koshi’s hill and Tarai areas. Moderate rain is possible in parts of the Tarai in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, and in scattered Tarai spots in Madhesh and Sudurpashchim. Mountain and hill areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, plus scattered mountain and hill spots in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim, could again see moderate rain or snow with thunder and lightning.
Heavy rainfall was also recorded across the country in the past 24 hours, notably in Sankhuwasabha and Bhaktapur, the division said.
