Residents and travellers have been forced to risk their lives to cross the Taksugad stream after floods washed away a bridge and a temporary causeway between wards 10 and 11 of Nalgad Municipality in Jajarkot along the Bheri Corridor.
Flooding on August 14 swept away a suspension bridge over Taksugad as well as a temporary causeway built to facilitate movement.
The destruction of the bridge and causeway has disrupted transportation along the Bheri Corridor, forcing locals to cross the stream at great personal risk.
With the regular route blocked by the floods, pedestrians and residents have found it particularly difficult to cross the stream, especially during the monsoon season.
The strong current has further increased the risk of accidents, as people are compelled to cross the stream under dangerous conditions.
As Taksugad lies along an important section of the Bheri Corridor, residents have urged the concerned authorities to reconstruct the bridge and causeway and immediately ensure safe passage.
