Nepal A lose by eight wickets to NT Strike in Top End T20 opener

Nepal A have lost their opening match of the Top End T20 Series in Australia, going down to Northern Territory (NT) Strike by eight wickets in Darwin on Friday.

Chasing a target of 123 runs set by Nepal, NT Strike reached 126 for two in 15 overs at the DXC Arena. The match was the opening fixture of Nepal’s campaign in the tournament.

Douwtjie Hoogenboezem top-scored for NT Strike with an unbeaten 40 off 37 balls, while Jordan Silk remained unbeaten on 42. Pawan Sarraf took both wickets for Nepal.

Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal A scored 122 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Pawan Sarraf was Nepal’s top scorer with 41 runs off 49 balls. Lokesh Bam contributed 16 runs, while Narayan Joshi scored 15.

For NT Strike, one of their bowlers took three wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Tom Menzies, Sam Barker, William Blair and D’Arcy Short took one wicket each.

Nepal will play their second match against Bangladesh High Performance on Saturday. The fixture is scheduled for Darwin as part of the Top End T20 Series.
