Tribhuvan University (TU) has warned that students found violating the examination code of conduct will have their examinations cancelled. TU Registrar Prof Dr Mahananda Chalise said around 17,000 students from the Faculty of Management are currently appearing for examinations and urged students to immediately report any misconduct to the police.
“About 17,000 students are taking the examinations today. If anyone is seen engaging in inappropriate activities, responsible students should immediately inform the police,” he said.
The examinations are being conducted for bachelor’s, master’s and MPhil programmes under the Faculty of Management, Office of the Dean. TU has also issued a six-point notice outlining examination rules for students.
According to the notice issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, students must bring their valid admit cards on the examination day and sit only in their assigned seats. They are not allowed to leave their seats or the examination hall without permission from the centre superintendent or invigilator.
Students are also prohibited from leaving the examination hall within the first hour after the examination begins.
The university has banned the entry of mobile phones, smartwatches, electronic devices, cheat sheets, books, and any other prohibited materials into examination halls.
Acts such as cheating, assisting others in cheating, impersonating another candidate, disrupting the examination process, or behaving improperly toward examination staff are strictly prohibited.
Students are required to fully comply with the instructions of the centre superintendent, supervisors, invigilators, and examination staff throughout the examination period.
TU has warned that any violation of the examination rules and code of conduct may result in the cancellation of the examination, disqualification from future examinations for a specified period, and, if necessary, legal action in accordance with university regulations.
