Kathmandu, July 12
Police inform that 45-year-old Ashwin Raut, who attempted self-immolation in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, on Saturday morning, has died.
Raut, who set himself on fire in his own kitchen, was rescued immediately by police and taken to Bir Hospital, where he was treated in the ICU.
SP Pawan Bhattarai of District Police Range, Kathmandu, said he had died a short while earlier.
More than 50 percent of his body had been burned.
Raut had been living in Buddhanagar with his wife and son. The reason behind his attempt has not been disclosed.
