Nepal exports 140 tonnes of pickles worth Rs 82.48 million to 10 countries

Nepal exported 140 tonnes (140,304 kilograms) of pickles over the past five months, earning Rs 82.48 million in revenue.

According to data from the Department of Customs, Nepali pickles were exported to 10 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

During the first five months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS, Nepal exported 41,377 kilograms of pickles worth Rs 19.32 million to Australia. Canada imported 34,768 kilograms valued at Rs 19.44 million, while South Korea received 20,655 kilograms worth Rs 12.53 million. Exports to the United States stood at 13,729 kilograms, generating Rs 8.43 million.

Similarly, exports to Japan amounted to 13,794 kilograms, earning Rs 9.35 million, while 3,393 kilograms were exported to the United Kingdom, generating Rs 3.61 million. Italy imported 8,892 kilograms of pickles worth Rs 6.32 million.

Belgium imported 2,496 kilograms of pickles valued at Rs 2.65 million during the period.

In the previous fiscal year 2081/82 BS, Nepal exported pickles worth Rs 95.69 million during the same five-month period.
