Weak batting sees Chitwan Rhinos lose to Kathmandu Gorkhas

Kathmandu, November 28

Chitwan Rhinos suffered a tough 53-run defeat against Kathmandu Gorkhas, largely due to weak batting. Chitwan failed to chase the moderate target of 143 runs set by Kathmandu.

In the first innings, Sohail Tanvir of Chitwan took 4 wickets, while Jon Simpson of Kathmandu anchored Kathmandu’s innings with 60 runs.

In the second innings, Kathmandu’s bowlers bowled tightly, and none of the Chitwan batters could make a significant score. Ravi Bopara, who had scored three consecutive half-centuries earlier, managed only 21 runs today. Dev Khanal also scored 21, while Sohail Tanvir added 18 runs. The rest of the players failed to reach double digits.

For Kathmandu, Rasid Khan took 3 wickets, while captain Karan KC, Milind Kumar, and Shahbaz Alam claimed 2 wickets each. Chitwan was bowled out for 89 runs in 17.2 overs.
