A person has died in a fire that broke out in Makhan Tole, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14.
Apil Raj Bohora, Spokesperson of District Police Range, Kathmandu, informed that a woman died in the fire and her identity is yet to be confirmed.
The fire had started from the four-storey house of Dayaram Shrestha, located in Makhan Galli behind Suraj Arcade. Police stated that the fire began on the third floor of the house, which was made of mud and wood, due to a gas leak.
The fire also spread to the adjacent five-storey concrete house of Rukesh Shrestha.
Six fire engines from Kathmandu and Lalitpur were used to extinguish the fire. Personnel from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and Metropolitan Police were deployed to control the fire.
