Taplejung, February 17
Nepal Communist Party-Maoist (led by Netra Bikram Chand) has started forming ‘People’s Government’ in different areas of Taplejung.
The move is reminiscent of what then CPN-Maoist’s forming of similar parallel structures to challenge the government during the insurgency. The party has named Bijay Phemby as coordinator for its ‘parallel government’ Taplejung, Rajen Dahal is his deputy, the party told local mediapersons at a programme in Phungling.
