NEPSE: Banking group boosts stock market

The significant growth in the banking group has led to an overall increase in the stock market. On Monday, the NEPSE index rose by 16.29 points, reaching 2053 points. The prices of 176 companies increased, 60 decreased, and 11 remained unchanged. The total transaction volume was RS 2.99 billion.

The banking index saw the highest increase of 2.04 per cent (21 points). Development banks rose by 52 points, hotels and tourism by 42 points, hydropower by 15 points, life insurance by 52 points, microfinance by 14 points, non-life insurance by 51 points, others by 3 points, and the trade group by 4 points. The manufacturing and finance groups, however, saw a decline of 13 and 20 points respectively.

On this day, the price of Himalaya Energy Development Company increased by 9.7 per cent. The prices of Dordikhola Hydropower rose by 8.4 per cent, Corporate Development Bank by 7.5 per cent, Upper Hewakhola by 5.6 per cent, Dolti Power by 5.2 per cent, and NMB Bank by 4.8 per cent.

The price of Nepal Finance saw the highest decline of 10 per cent. The prices of Mailungkhola Hydropower decreased by 8.4 per cent and Mankamana Smart Microfinance by 3.4 per cent. Based on transaction amounts, Nepal Finance, NRN Infrastructure, Janaki Finance, United Idi Mardi, and Dordikhola Hydropower were the leaders.
