Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI) held a meeting with businesspersons from Nepal and Italy on October 10 to discuss investing in Nepal.

The meeting was led by the organisation’s vice-president Sanjay Agrawal and was attended by the Italian ambassador to both India and Nepal Vincenzo De Luca; consulate general of Italy in Kolkata, Gianluca Rubagotti; and Nepal’s consulate general to Italy Pratima Rana Pande.

Other members of the NICCI were also present at the meeting to discuss various business opportunities between the two countries.

“We want to create an environment where we can promote Nepali brands in Italy and vice versa,” said Italian Ambassador De Luca.

De Luca also said that he wanted to pave way for Italians to invest in businesses in Nepal and also help businesses run by Nepalis in Italy.

Agrawal added that the NICCI wants to make Nepal part of the Grand International Expo that will be held in Rome in 2030. The expo will cover sectors like the evolution and regeneration of territories threatened by climate change, diversity and inclusion of communities, national and international decentralisation and mobility, and digital connectivity for economic and social development

NICCI informs that it has also booked a pavilion for Nepal in the upcoming Milan Trade Fair that will happen in March 2023 to promote Nepali business, products and culture in Italy.
