Kathmandu, September 29
Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has been unanimously elected as a general convention delegate from Kathmandu-4 for the party’s 15th General Convention.
Similarly, Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has been elected as a general convention delegate from Jhapa-1 through voting. Sharma secured 638 votes out of 710 voters.
The Nepali Congress convention was scheduled for October 2, but the party is preparing to postpone it by a few days due to floods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction outside the establishment has also begun preparations for a separate general convention.
