Kathmandu, September 27
The water level in the Narayani River at Devghat has crossed the danger mark, raising the risk of flooding in surrounding areas.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, the water level in the Narayani River had reached 10.8 metres at the time of reporting.
The danger level at Devghat is 9 metres, while the warning level is 7.4 metres.
As the river has already crossed the danger level, authorities have urged residents and concerned agencies in vulnerable areas to remain alert due to the high risk of inundation.
The water level is still rising, and stakeholders have urged people to maintain caution throughout the evening.
Water levels also above danger mark in other rivers
Water levels have also crossed the danger mark at several other monitoring stations.
These include the Kali Gandaki River in Parbat, Chepe Khola in Lamjung, Mangalghat in Myagdi and Riu Khola in Chitwan.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, all of the stations currently reporting water levels above the danger mark are located within the Narayani River basin.
Authorities have urged people living near rivers and flood-prone areas to remain alert and follow updates from the flood forecasting authorities.
