Sipradi Yatri has officially announced the price of its new locally engineered and manufactured electric scooter, the Yatri P2.
The launch marks another milestone in Sipradi Yatri’s efforts to develop electric mobility products that are engineered and manufactured in Nepal.
The P2 has been developed with Nepal’s diverse and challenging road and geographical conditions in mind. The company says the scooter is not designed solely for urban commuting, but also for uphill roads, winding routes, daily city traffic and longer-distance travel.
According to Sipradi Yatri, the starting price of the Yatri P2 is Rs 329,900.
Customers can customise the scooter according to their needs and preferences by choosing from different battery capacities, colours and other comfort and connectivity options.
Engineered for Nepal’s roads
One of the key features of the Yatri P2 is its PMSM mid-drive motor, which has been designed to deliver performance across different road and riding conditions.
The motor produces 315 Nm of torque at the wheel. An actively cooled high-power controller is also designed to help maintain consistent and reliable performance, particularly on uphill roads.
The P2 uses a high-strength steel chassis, long-travel suspension and 14-inch wheels to provide stability and control across different road conditions in Nepal.
The scooter is equipped with dual disc brakes and a combined braking system, which the company says provides greater confidence while braking.
Three battery options
The Yatri P2 is available with three battery options to suit different daily travel requirements.
The 3 kWh battery provides a range of up to 90 km in urban conditions, while the 3.7 kWh battery offers up to 112 km. The 5.2 kWh battery provides a range of up to 157 km, according to the company.
For riders requiring additional range, an extender pack can provide up to another 50 km.
Sipradi Yatri says the P2’s battery systems were developed specifically for the platform and tested according to operating conditions in Nepal.
The scooter comes with a battery warranty of up to eight years or 80,000 kilometres, which the company says reflects its focus on building customer confidence for long-term use.
Connectivity and riding features
The Yatri P2 comes with an installed onboard charger and a 7-inch TFT display.
Other features include 4G connectivity, multiple riding modes, smart charging mode, multiple levels of regenerative braking, hill hold and cruise control.
The scooter is also equipped with Class D headlamps, a regen-responsive tail light, anti-theft notification and motor lock features.
