Kathmandu, April 18
A house caught fire in Thapagaun, Kathmandu, on Thursday morning, police said. The house is close to Anmol Catering. Firefighters, police and local people were trying to bring the fire under control. Due to the blaze, vehicular movement around Baneshwor was obstructed.
With the onset of the summer, incidents of fire have been increasing throughout the country. Firefighting has emerged as a huge challenge, thanks to a shortage of firefighters, firefighting equipment and narrow roads and gullies through which fire engines cannot pass and reach the sites.
