As India’s controversial Hindu leader Yogi Adityanath is preparing to pay a visit to the holy city of Janakpur, Nepali police officers have said they will mobilise around 4,000 personnel to avoid any untoward incident during the trip.

The Chief Minister of Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath will come to Janakpur to attend a function organised on the occasion of Bibaha Panchami, an annual Hindu festival celebrated in commemoration of the marriage between Ram (of Ayodhya) and Sita (of Janakpur).

DIG Hari Bahadur Pal, the top police official in Province 2, says the existing workforce in the Province is not sufficient, hence personnel from other provinces will also be called for the day.

While around 1,000 police personnel from the Province will be mobilised, around 2,000 from provinces 1 and 3 will join the force. Likewise, 1,000 personnel from the Armed Police Force will be mobilised.

In addition, there will be some plainclothes cops, according to Pal.
