A Yeti Airlines aircraft

Kathmandu, October 8

A Yeti Airlines aircraft has ‘collided with’ a jackal at the Nepalgunj Airport on Sunday evening. The ATR-72 aircraft was landing at the Airport at around 7:15 pm yesterday when it hit the animal.

Director at the Nepalgunj office of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Prem Nath Thakur, says the incident, however, did not cause any harm. But, the jackal died on the spot.

He informs that the animal was crossing the runway while the plane was landing.

The airport management was unaware of the incident until the pilot informed after some minutes.

Meanwhile, Thakur says the airport has taken initiatives to destroy bushes around the airport to prevent such incidents in the future.
