World Environment Day: Prime Minister plants his favourite saplings at Singha Darbar

Kathmandu, June 5

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has planted trees of two of his favourite fruits, litchi and avocado, in the premises of Singha Durbar, the country’s central administrative complete where the Prime Minister’s Office among other ministries lies, on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the ‘One Nepali One Fruit Plant 2075’ campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day, the Prime Minister planted the saplings.

Speaking to media after the programme, the Prime Minister said, “The campaign was started to make every land arable and make the country independent on fruits. This will help our ecosystem as well.”

He further urged all Nepalis to take part in the campaign.

Likewise, the Ministry of Defence informed that many saplings were planted at all army barracks across the country on the occasion.

It has been learnt that more than 100,000 saplings were planted under the campaign today itself.
