Kathmandu, December 18
Province 5 Chief Minister and NCP standing committee member Shanker Pokhrel says he is ready to give up his post in government if he has to choose between his ministership and his position in the party.
Pokhrel’s comment comes as NCP members have been criticising him and Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung for ‘occupying’ the party and the government leadership in the province.
During the standing committee meeting of the party on Tuesday, Pokharel said that he would not give up his political responsibilities even though he was the Chief Minister. “If this is such a problem, I’d like to resign from my post,” he said during the meeting.
