Most leaders in the CPN-UML Central Committee have suggested that the party leadership break the current ruling coalition between Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre.

They have said the Congress-Maoist alliance is acting against national interests and god governance.

Eight groups formed to discuss a political paper presented by party Chairman KP Sharma Oli have suggested that the party leadership take initiatives to give an end to the Congress-Maoist partnership, says the party’s Publicity Department’s deputy chief Surya Thapa.

“We have received suggestions that the current alliance is harmful to the country and people; therefore it should be broken and the political course should be taken to the right track.”

Further, the party has concluded that the coalition has promoted anarchy and corruption in the country; and intervened in constitutional bodies.

Meanwhile, the party has seen divided over if the party needs to announce its candidates for the prime minister and chief ministers before launching the election campaign.
