The Mayor of Tilottama Municipality in Rupandehi district has announced to donate the salary of his entire term to community schools of the city.
The Municipality Mayor, Basudev Ghimire, announced to provide all his five-year tenure salary to one poor and hardworking student of each community school as a scholarship. There are 35 community schools in the Municipality.
The provincial government has allocated a monthly salary of Rs 35,000 to each mayor of Province 5.
The scholarship will be provided as per recommendations from the community schools. The amount will be provided either for five consecutive years or till the student studies in the community school.
Meanwhile, the Municipality has prioritised the development of educational and physical infrastructures in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
