The Supreme Court on Friday issued a stay order, directing the Ministry of Youth and Sports not to implement Minister Rajendra Kumar KC’s decision to dissolve the Executive Committee of Nepal Scouts.

Earlier, on Monday, the Minister had dissolved the 16-member Committee headed by Rabin Dahal and formed a 13-member ad-hoc committee with a mandate to hold elections to the new Executive Committee and National Council.

Following the decision, Dahal among others had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding that the decision be revoked as the Committee elected for four years was yet to complete the term.

Responding to the petition, a single bench of Justice Kedar Chasile ordered that the decision should not be implemented till the final verdict is delivered in the case.

Meanwhile, the Court summoned both petitioners and defendants for the next hearing.
