Kathmandu, October 12

Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar has called the last meeting of Parliament for Saturday afternoon, in which she will officially bid farewell to the lawmakers, as the country is holding elections to the new Parliament in November and December.

The last meeting will be special, hence will not include any regular business, informs Gharti’s press advisor Babin Sharma.

The Speaker and top leaders of major political parties will address the special meeting. Likewise, the lawmakers will get a travel fare as per the tradition, according to Parliament Secretariat.

The Secretariat’s spokesperson Bharat Raj Gautam says the House will dissolve automatically on Saturday midnight as the Election Commission has set the date of Sunday to file nominations for upcoming elections under the proportional representation category.

Meanwhile, the House is holding its last business meeting today.  It is scheduled to endorse bills on elections of the National Assembly and the Language Commission.
