Shocked by the way how Bibeksheel members left says Sajha

Kathmandu, January 15

Leaders of the Bibeksheel Sajha party have said that they were shocked at how some leaders of the party decided to leave the organisation.

The party, touted as be an alternative political force, split after one of its coordinators Ujwal Thapa filed an application at the Election Commission (EC) seeking registration of a new party on Friday.

The party’s central committee meeting on Tuesday concluded that although the erstwhile Bibeksheel Party and Sajha Party entered into a merger, leaders could not reconcile their ideological differences.

“From the manner in which 16 members from Bibeksheel Nepali left the party, it is evident that they weren’t emotionally and ideologically on the same page,” says Sajha party spokesperson, Suryaraj Acharya.

He added that although the party was sad about the situation, it hadn’t lost hope. “The citizens of the country looked at us as hope, and this split has surely saddened them as well. Our main concern is to make sure we work for the people,” he added.
