One week has passed since the voting under the third phase of local level elections held in Province 2. However, results have been awaited from five of total 136 local units.
Birgunj Metropolitan City of Parsa, Rajbiraj Municipality of Saptari, Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, Kolhawi Municipality amd Baragadhi Rural Municipality of Bara district are yet to announce the results.
In these places, Nepali Congress is leading in one place whereas the CPN-UML and the Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal are leading in two places each.
In the results published so far, Nepali Congress has emerged as the biggest party by winning top positions in 38 places. Likewise, the Forum-Nepal is second with victory in 25 local units. The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has won in 24 places.
The CPN-Maoist Centre and the CPN-UML have won in 21 and 17 places respectively.
The Nepal Democratic Forum has won in three places.
Likewise, the Nepali Janata Dal and the Naya Shakti have won in two and one places respectively.
