Saptari killings: Government recalls CDO, district chiefs of three security agencies

Kathmandu, March 7

In the wake of the Saptari killings, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday decided to recall chief district officer of Saptari and chiefs of security bodies tasked with maintaining law and order in the district.

Nepal Police’s acting IG Dinesh Chandra Pokharel, Armed Police Force IG Singha Bahadur Shrestha, National Vigilance Centre Chief Dilip Regmi and chief of the ministry’s Peace and Security Division Balkrishna Panthi attended the meeting that lasted around 1.5 hours.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi summoned chiefs of three security agencies at NP headquarters at Naxal and acquired information about the killings. On the occasion, Home Minister Nidhi directed chiefs of security agencies to restore law and order without using force.
