Kathmandu, July 5
The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has finally decided to get itself registered with the Election Commission.
The party was formed after a merger of six Madhesh-centric parties in April.
Leader Keshav Jha says top leaders of the party are gathering at its headquarters in Bijulibazaar before heading to the Commission office in Kantipath to apply for the registration.
Meanwhile, the party has clarified that its decision to get registered is not a preparation to take part in the local level elections in Province 2, scheduled for September 18.
“This is just a procedure,” a member of the presidium, Raj Kishor Yadav, says,, “The party is yet to discuss what we will do in the elections.”
The party had boycotted the first and second phases of local polls.
