RJPN cadres file nominations for June 28 polls in Rupandehi

Nomination papers of RJPN cadres for the second phase of local level elections in Rupandehi district

Bhairahawa, June 18

Despite the party’s central level decision to boycott the second phase of local level elections scheduled for June 28, some cadres of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal have filed nominations for the polls in various local units of Rupandehi district.

After the party decided not to take part in local level elections, the RJPN cadres in Sammarimai, Kotahimai and Marchawarimai rural municipalities filed nominations to contest as independent candidates.

The cadres have filed nominations for all 37 posts in each rural municipality.

These areas are in constituency 6 of the district and are said to be the stronghold of RJPN central leader Sarvendra Nath Shukla.

In Sammarimai, Ashok Kumar Shukla and Kamaluddin Shekh will contest for chairperson and vice-chairperson. Likewise, Raj Kumar Singh and Janaki Prasad Chaudhary will run for the positions in Marchawarimai.

In Kotahimai, Balkisun Tiwari and Asarphi Yadav are contesting.
