The Public Service Commission says its joint secretary-led divisions will now carry out its work in the provinces.

As per the new setup, Province Public Service Commissions will be established in each state, says the constitutional body, which entered into its 68th year on Friday.

Similarly, zonal offices of the commission will now work as ‘examination management offices’.

Talking to Onlinekhabar, joint-secretary of the commission, Laxmi Bilas Koirala said, “The provincial bodies of the commission has to be impartial and provide quality services. We will teach the staffers how such targets can be achieved. Basically, the provincial divisions will work for ‘knowledge transfer’.”

Koirala also informed that the commission’s existing offices will not be relocated.

According to Koirala, the central office will hold exams for joint-secretary and under-secretary levels whereas provincial and district-level offices will conduct exams for officers.
