Roads of the capital will get the privilege of hosting public buses with air conditioning facility for the first time in history, on Wednesday.

Thrift Multipurpose Company is launching the operation of 10 new buses with the brand name of ‘Sambriddhi Yatayat’ tomorrow. The buses will also boast offline multimedia facilities and wireless internet connection.

Of 10 buses, six will operate along Naya Bus Park – Narayan Gopal Chok – Ratna Park – Tripureshwor – Kalimati – Kalanki – Sitapaila route. The second route for four other buses will begin at Naya Bus Park and move through Chabahil, Airport, Tinkune, Naya Baneshwor, to end at Ratna Park.

“We have entered the business with a motive to improve the public transport system. Now, buses to ply major routes of Kathmandu should be big and with various facilities,” a promoter of the company says, “We believe such buses will free members of the public from difficult travel on small microbuses and minibuses.”

Seats of the new buses are comfortable for differently abled people. Likewise, there is space for two wheelchairs as well.
