Butwal, August 28

Chairperson at the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament, Dor Prasad Upadhyaya, says the House panel is monitoring all national pride projects being run across the country.

He says the Committee launched the monitoring owing to reports of delay in most of 21 national pride projects.

Speaking with journalists in Butwal of Rupandehi districts today, Upadhyaya also expressed concerns over rising policy-level corruptions in various projects. He was in the district to monitor the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport and Butwal-Belahiya six-lane road.

Meanwhile, the lawmakers claimed political leadership and bureaucrats worked in collusion for policy-level corruptions.

He said recent reports about corruptions in Nalsing Gad hydro project, Ncell capital gains tax issue and land purchase of Nepal Oil Corporation showed involvement of political leadership in corruption and warned that development would be impossible if the political leadership did not correct itself.
