Hetaunda/Kathmandu, February 12

Newly appointed Chief Minister of Province 3, Dor Mani Poudel, has taken the oath of office and secrecy on Monday morning. He is preparing to form a small Council of Ministers today itself.

The Province Chief Anuradha Koirala, administered the oath to the CPN-UML leader at a special function held in Hetaunda, the provincial capital, today. Earlier on Sunday, Koirala had appointed Poudel to the top position as the UML commands a majority in the Provincial Assembly.

Poudel will assume his office today itself, according to the Office of the Chief Minister in Hetaunda.

Meanwhile, a small Council of Ministers is being formed today itself, according to a source close to Poudel.

It has been learned that UML leaderand former Kathmandu Mayor Keshav Sthapit will be appointed the Minister of Physicial Infrastructure.

The CPN-Maoist Centre, a left alliance constituent, has extended the support to the Poudel government. However, the party is unlikely to send any of its leader to the government today itself.

The party’s provincial parliamentary party leader Shalik Ram Jamakattel says the party will not send any member to the government till the two parties agree on a modality of proposed unification.

Another source, however, claims the party is demanding the Internal Affairs Ministry for Jamakattel himself and the negotiation might take few more days.
