RJPN leader Keshav Jha speaks at a function in Kathmandu, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.

Kathmandu, September 5

A central leader of the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal claims his party will secure victory in top positions of more than 65 per cent local units of Province 2, which will hold local level elections on September 18.

Party’s General Secretary Keshav Jha says the party’s candidates will win in around 90 local units. There are total 136 units in the Province.

Speaking at a function in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Jha said the party was making preparations to make the target.

However, he added that the party would form election alliance with Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal in some places. But, the partnership with CPN-UML is entirely impossible, he claimed.

Other major political parties including Congress, UML and Maoist have also claimed that they will emerge as the biggest force of the Province from the polls.
