Kathmandu, March 8
President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday attended a function organised by the government on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
An organising committee formed by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens had hosted a rally from Bhrikudtimandap of Kathmandu this morning.
The rally went through Putalisadak and Ratna Park and ended with a formal ceremony at the City Hall, which was attended by the President as well.
Bhandari addressed the function and greeted all women on the occasion of the Day.
Meanwhile, various government and nongovernment agencies organised different functions to commemorate the day.
The government has declared a public holiday to mark the day today.
